A downloadable game

Ambertide Bay is a cute & cozy third-person aquarium management and ocean exploration game, with inspiration from the 'dream job' and 'fix-it' prompts.

In the warm and sunny Ambertide Bay, you play as Spoon, a cat that has moved away from home to follow their dream of running their own aquarium. Catch fish with your net, re-home them in your aquarium and show off all of your finned friends!

Greet the locals as they visit your refurbished aquarium to learn more about their lives and the town that they all speak so fondly of.

By collecting more and more fish, your fishopedia fills with all sorts of interesting facts about your collection!

Chat, Catch and Explore!

In the day organise your tanks and chat to visitors within your aquarium.

When evening rolls around go out, catch new fish and explore the hidden depths below. You may unlock new previously undiscovered areas!

If you've finished exploring, return home to the aquarium, check out your newly updated fishopedia and rehome your freshly caught fish for future visitors to enjoy.

This feedback is for the previous version of the game, so I’ll move it down.
My thoughts on the latest version are in the reply to this comment.

It's a very exciting piece of work!
The game still feels unfinished, but I was very excited to read about the first airmail from my mother and father, the concept art, the unique characters, and the game content within this introductory page, meow~.

Thank you so much for playing our game! Yes, this is super unfinished as it was made as an early prototype for a uni submission. We are going to expand on this during the academic year, so if you want to keep updated please follow the devs. We much appreciate your interest, thank you again

Hello, meow~! Thank you for letting me know about the update!! I was already following, so I actually saw the update through a notification, and I played it on stream—I had just finished Spring yesterday!
The aquarium, though small, had such lovely details like different tank sizes and shapes, a giant whale wallpaper, display spaces combined with bookshelves, and a cozy deep-sea-colored room in the very back—it was so incredibly wonderful!!!!!!
I felt moved, like, “This is the aquarium they wanted to express!”
The underwater visuals sparkled, and each area had such a unique atmosphere, swimming through it was pure joy.
The jellyfish area especially became my favorite.
Just imagining a life where you see the faces of aquarium visitors every day and then dive into the ocean in the evening—it sounds so beautiful.

The first time I played was on the previous version (the downloaded file was named "Ambertide Bay Final.zip"), and I’m not sure if it was because of that, but at one point, when I interacted with an aquarium tank, I couldn’t interact with anything afterwards. (Video 24:40~)
And I don’t know if ending the game at that point caused it, but when I restarted, the cave in the area with the golden fish and squid was closed, and the calendar date had shifted by one day.
I ended up playing through to the end of Spring like that!

But the game had evolved so so so much, and it was exactly the world from the concept art I first saw—it was so fun! I was really happy to dive back into the world of Ambertide Bay, meow~! 🐱

Hello,

Thank you so much for playing. My apologies for any bugs you experienced, looks like we still need to tidy the game up a bit.

You played it for a very long time and saw pretty much everything, I’m glad you had a great time with it!
